RecommendationsThis Year's Prom Theme by Dawn M. ParesThe prom queen decides to go out with Casey (perhaps because he's now a big time anchor on Sports Night). Dan, the other big-time anchor on Sports Night, has to talk to his therapist about it. I'm not quite sure what I like so much about this story. Like a lot of helen's stories, it's as much about what the characters don't and can't say as the actual dialogue. It is also, coincidentally, brand spanking new. recommended 31.5.00 | permalink Lost in Translation by helenThis is a Phantom Menace story in which Qui-Gon is turned into a pleasure slave and then there are consequences. But not the ones you're thinking of. At least, not right away. recommended 29.5.00 | permalink Rapture by WombatA marvelous Mulder/Methos novel, in which the FBI learns more about Immortals and Krycek dreams about gafiating (or at least getting away from Mulder) but just ends up wrecking some anonymous kid's birthday party. recommended 29.5.00 | permalink Hell by JedimomThis is a non-canon Sith Academy story, and it's incredibly sweet and angsty. It's also the beginning of a wonderful series, a serious Maul/Obi-Wan affair. You can contact Jedimom if you want to read the rest of it. Here's a clue to underage readers: if you ignore the age warnings, don't let people know. recommended 29.5.00 | permalink Reality Check by FrancescaThis J/B Sentinel story is a sequel to Dream Sequence but is, I think, the better story. It is gently humorous as well as touching, and the reason I cannot ask, "Would you like some tea?" without cracking up. recommended 29.5.00 | permalink Dust and Ashes by AiobheannA short Farscape/Sandman crossover involving the John/D'Argo pairing. The imagery throughout this peace is lovely. The plot concerns ... well, it takes John quite some time to figure out what's going on, so I won't spoil it for you. This occurs sometime between Family Ties and the as yet unaired RE:Union. recommended 29.5.00 | permalink Out of the Dark by KassandraThis is a long X-Files novel (the link is to part 1 of the HTML version). Mulder gets introduced to the BDSM lifestyle. Then he gets subsumed by it. Then Skinner has to rescue him. It's a love story, and it also has some very nice sex scenes. recommended 29.5.00 | permalink |
