RecommendationsGoing Deep by AnneZoThis is a Once a Thief story where Vic and Mac have to go on a very special assignment. recommended 25.6.00 | permalink I'll Be Home for Christmas by SwordQueenGood feelings! Happiness! Cheer and good will towards men and Jaffas! This is a Jack/Teal'c story that is almost entirely filled with people enjoying themselves with one another at Christmas. recommended 25.6.00 | permalink Stranger Than Kindness by Laura Jacquez ValentineThis woman's fiction is so good, but it's also terribly uncomfortable sometimes. This is Jim/Blair. recommended 22.6.00 | permalink Refraction, a Homicide : Life on the Street, X Files, The Sentinel crossover by Brenda AntrimBrenda Antrim is something of a legend, and deservedly so. She manages to make Lee Brackett both evil and somewhat sympathetic, and she makes you want to cry for Tim. This is the final story in a trilogy. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Subterfuge by XantheThis Mulder/Skinner novel explores good and bad BDSM and the consequences of Mulder's recklessness. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Fruit Of The Vine by Aristide132 K of sex and fruit and non-discussion, this Jim/Blair piece is the longest PWP I've ever read. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink A Matter of Taste by BrighidThis Jim/Blair piece really turned me on. And then it made me giggle. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Proof of Ownership by LyricaA clever little Mulder/Skinner piece, with a CSM twist. Only slightly evil.
recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Post Mortem by Anne SmithThis was written after Gethsemane but before Redux, and I find the voice for Scully very true, and her interaction with Skinner highly plausible. It's nice to read about a Scully who still genuinely cares for Mulder. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Grey Zone II - Cats by PalinurusThis series is about Mulder's indoctrination into BDSM. This particular story involves hallucinogens, and thus, provides us with some startling imagery. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Cyanide and Astroglide by Ethan NelsonA perfect picture of an absolutely manic Fox Mulder, plus a plot that involves the porn industry. How can one help but be in stitches? recommended 14.6.00 | permalink The Waking by Anne Carr and Emrin AlexanderObi-Wan is gravely ill and Qui-Gon pokes through his rock collection. Once again, Qui-Gon is ignorant of Obi-Wan's true feelings, and his own to boot. Frankly, the rocks are the most interesting part, and once they're done, the story isn't nearly so much fun. But they last through the first three parts, so that's okay. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Noise by Sleeps with CoyotesA Phantom Menace story in which Qui-Gon pines over Obi-Wan. He also refuses to pay any attention to how his Padawan is actually behaving towards him. recommended 14.6.00 | permalink Grace, Paradoxically by Laura Jacquez ValentineThird story in the Gone Native series. Jim's mother fails to understand his and Blair's connection. The Gone Native stories strike me as bitter, brittle stories, but in the way a good chocolate-flavored drink might be. There are depths and oceans beneath the surface, I think. recommended 6.6.00 | permalink Colorblind by AmirinMulder doesn't always see things very well, personally or professionally. How does Skinner have to react to his perceptions? recommended 6.6.00 | permalink Hilt by Nonie RiderNonie has, on occasion, written marvelously horrid tales of sex and violence between Mulder and Krycek. She calls them DarkUglies and they are, but they are gloriously hideous. This particular story is the beginning of the Hilt series. Neither Mulder nor Krycek is presented as nice or even good in this series. But they have a connection ... recommended 6.6.00 | permalink Shattered Image by Blue ChampagneThe last in the Image series, this somewhat melancholy Miles/Julian piece deals with the aftereffects of the episode "Dr. Bashir, I Presume." Under Keiko's careful supervision, Molly, Miles, Nerys, Yoshi, and the lady herself all help to get Julian through the night. recommended 3.6.00 | permalink Bang by Barb GThis is the first in a four part series (part four is not yet up on Barb's webpage). I like it because Krycek is simultaneously very human and very much the ruthless killer that Chris Carter has not seen fit to show us much of over the past season. Also, nobody talks too much. recommended 1.6.00 | permalink |
