Poof! Be gone!

I'm going away for the weekend again. I'm visiting my brother during Parents' weekend. I might get access to the net, I might not. On verra. That's French for 'we will see.'

The Internet is wonderful!

And so is Dan Savage. The second woman's story made me laugh to the point of annoying my coworkers.

It occurred to me that some of you may not be slash-obsessives or The Sentinel fans. Garret Maggart played Blair Sandburg, the shorter of the two guys with the long, curly hair.

Awful, awful nightmare!

Amazingly, I am not talking about the too-close-to-call presidential election.

I had a dream that Garret Maggart was on a History Channel Game Show called, "What Was My Last Paying Job, Anyway?" He was dressed as a garish neo-Victorian poofter in red and pink. And he kept walking into things and spilling stuff, and he tried to make espresso with flour. It was so awful, I woke up before my alarm and had to make this blog entry.

Lovely, loverly weekend

I was ordered to Boston for the GIND's birthday, and I'm so glad I went.

I hadn't seen the Topless Tuner in over a year, and her hair was all short. (Not that this is her most significant feature, nor is it all that startling. I believe her hair was that short when I met her. But it was good to see her again, and talk with her. And, to be perfectly honest, eat her cooking. The TT has this amazing relationship with vegetables. She made mushroom turnovers, and I liked them. I am not a fan of mushrooms. (I'm not opposed to mushrooms, the way I am to, say, asparagus, but I don't enjoy them much.) But I did like her mushroom dish. And I was relieved to find her still very much herself. She is the second-most grounded person I have ever known, and perhaps the healthiest and sanest. (The most grounded person I ever knew was a completely unreliable drug addict. Max was not in the least trustworthy, but he was solid as a rock.) Things being the same with the Tuner signify an order and dignity to the universe which it needs.

Seeing the GIND was blissful. I really do adore her. I don't know how to put into words just how much I adore her. I can say this: she began to miss me less than eight hours after I was gone; I'm still reveling in having been with her. I can't miss her yet; I'm still basking in the glow of her existence proximate to mine. She makes me feel like a happy Elena Georgiou poem.

I think that this weekend was so good because I skipped the hysterical anxiety and went straight into a self-accepting peace that I didn't quite get to the next-to-last time we saw each other. I love her, it's an extremely sensual thing, and my feelings sometimes have a mild sexual frisson but aren't worth rocking the boat. She smells good and she feels good and she's very, very clever and she makes me glad when she's breathing.

who am i?

I call myself WitchQueen. I'm not a witch or pagan, and I'm not royalty. But I named myself on the SciFi bulletin board, and I've been that way ever since: a woman whose power lies in shaping her reality with words. I'm a polyamorous (yet single) young black lesbian living in Baltimore and I find that most of my social life revolves around the Net.

what do i do?

I'm a slash fan. I read and write slash, homoerotic stories about characters from television, movies, and other popular media. My current main fandom is Farscape, and my first real fandom was The X-Files. I dabble in a lot of other shows, particularly The Sentinel, Wiseguy, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I watch a lot of TV and tape a fair number of shows.

what's the triumvirate?

We three kings of Orient are....

*cough cough hack hack* Er, sorry, wrong trio. Toni was the first of us to get a blog. As I was going through a period of extreme Toniworship, I knew I had to get one, too. Often in my blog, I would mention the Girl I'm Not Dating (AKA the GIND), because I love her. In the meantime, she and Toni made independent contact. One day I mused aloud about her starting her own blog. Soon after that, she did. And so I (or the other two) may refer to ourselves as the triangle, the trio, and other various "three" words.
