random edicts de vendrediWhy, why, why?Why does IE always close before I am done with it? I had written 3/4 of a kick-ass blog entry about this essay when my browser got an error and killed itself. Basically, I think Julad has lots of good explanations as to why women like slash. Go read. so spoke WitchQueen
I'm still tiredBut I'm in a much better mood today. I had a good lunch because I crashed the employee holiday party where I'm working, I worked 42.5 hours this week (I so can use the cash), and I installed the Tahoma font on my computer today. What, you may ask, does the Tahoma font have to do with happiness? * waits for the question* It just happens to be the font that Microsoft Word 97 uses for menus and other things. And if you don't have it on your computer, every time you open MS Word, the program gives you a lot of backtalk and guff, and whines and snivels and murmurs something about a reinstall. I don't have the disc for Word 97, so reinstalling wasn't an option. It finally occurred to me that any computerI worked at that had MS Word and did not have this dialogue must have the Tahoma font. And that I could fit such a font on a disk and take it home. So, I did, and now MS Word opens on command with no chitter chatter. And I am pleased. so spoke WitchQueen
random edicts de jeudiI'm tiredI'm not sleeping, I'm not eating well, and I'm not getting any exercise. And it's fricking cold all the time. Winter is a bad thing. so spoke WitchQueen
random edicts de mardiun cadeau inattendu (an unexpected gift)Part the firstAbout a year ago, an XF writer appeared on X/Stories. Her nom de plume was quercus wizenlii Part the secondI keep looking at the development of the slashcity domains with interest. I go over there every so often, just to see what's around. And I am constantly reminding myself to go read their magazine, citybeat. (still not accomplished) But they do this nice thing where they list accounts they host down the side of their pages. And I saw quercus/Lemon Drop, there.Part the EndWhen I clicked, I wasn't sure. But I compared the titles of some of the stories I'd saved and some of the titles on the new page and she's the same. And further, that she writes some very intriguing Sentinel fic, although I am saddened that she's given up XF fic. I am very pleased. so spoke WitchQueen
random edicts de dimancheIt's official!I am a pervert. I've been thinking that I should read the Harry Potter books, and that I would probably like them a good deal, for about two years now. Yet, I have not felt any urgency about it. Now, helen has written A Quaint Notion and I am suddenly quite anxious to read it. I've even a plan for where to obtain it and when to read it. I am sick, sick, sick. so spoke WitchQueen

A post from CarolineI will offer just one comment so that it's not so hard to do next time. They only carry books that people will buy. So, if they sell them, it means people are buying the books from them. So, the salesgirl has almost certainly seen people buy them before. Well, it's an observation that would help me, I hope it comforts you some. so spoke WitchQueen

read old edicts?
who am i?I call myself WitchQueen. I'm not a witch or pagan, and I'm not royalty. But I named myself on the SciFi bulletin board, and I've been that way ever since: a woman whose power lies in shaping her reality with words. I'm a polyamorous (yet single) young black lesbian living in Baltimore and I find that most of my social life revolves around the Net. what do i do?I'm a slash fan. I read and write slash, homoerotic stories about characters from television, movies, and other popular media. My current main fandom is Farscape, and my first real fandom was The X-Files. I dabble in a lot of other shows, particularly The Sentinel, Wiseguy, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I watch a lot of TV and tape a fair number of shows. what's the triumvirate? We three kings of Orient are.... *cough cough hack hack* Er, sorry, wrong trio. Toni was the first of us to get a blog. As I was going through a period of extreme Toniworship, I knew I had to get one, too. Often in my blog, I would mention the Girl I'm Not Dating (AKA the GIND), because I love her. In the meantime, she and Toni made independent contact. One day I mused aloud about her starting her own blog. Soon after that, she did. And so I (or the other two) may refer to ourselves as the triangle, the trio, and other various "three" words. stuff hereslashfen can blog
